A K-12 school in Chino Valley, AZ, is seeking two Special Education Teachers for the current school year contract, starting January 5 and continuing through the end of the school year (possibly May 22). These full-time positions (35-40 hours per week) involve working on-site at the Florentine campus with supportive leadership, including an onsite lead teacher and remote assistance via Zoom.
The two available positions serve distinct caseloads: one involves managing a resource classroom of 27 students in grades 4th-8th with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Other Health Impairments (OHI) eligibility; the other serves a self-contained classroom of 7 students in grades 4th-6th with SLD, OHI, and Autism eligibility. Part-time candidates will also be considered for on-site services.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing, writing, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintaining thorough progress notes and accurate documentation
- Managing classroom behavior and fostering a positive learning environment
- Collaborating with school staff to support student success
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid special education teaching credentials appropriate for K-12 education
- Experience with mild to moderate disabilities, including SLD, OHI, and Autism
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with onsite and remote staff
- Commitment to student-centered instruction and individualized support
