Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois LBS1 certification for grades 9-12
  • Experience working with high school students in a special education setting

  • Ability to individualize instruction and support IEP goals
  • Positive, adaptable, and dedicated to student learning and advocacy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for high school students
  • Utilize research-based instructional strategies to address a wide range of learning needs
  • Foster an inclusive classroom where each student feels empowered and respected
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
  • Communicate regularly with families and participate in IEP meetings
  • Adapt materials and modify lessons to support diverse learners
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and related activities
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and school initiatives
