Step into an impactful role supporting 4th and 5th graders as a Special Education Teacher for an exciting contract opportunity this school year near Cicero, IL. You'll work full-time, 35 hours per week, covering an FMLA leave at a vibrant intermediate school, with the potential for extension. Your expertise will make a difference by delivering both push-in and pull-out services in ELA and Math to a small resource group of 8-10 students.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 and PEL credentials required (attach a screenshot of your license to your resume using a blank page)
- Experience teaching special education at the elementary level is highly desired
- Strong instructional skills with ability to differentiate content for students’ unique learning needs
- Positive communication style and collaborative mindset
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload and adapt quickly to classroom dynamics
Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted push-in and pull-out instruction in English Language Arts and Math for 4th and 5th grade resource students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
- Support student engagement, behavior, and participation across learning environments
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Work onsite from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM weekdays, from August 14th through the end of September
