Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication skills for working with parents, staff, and students
  • Knowledge of diverse instructional strategies for learners with varying disabilities
  • Classroom management skills and a positive, compassionate approach

Duties:

  • Plan and deliver lessons aligned with IEP goals for students with exceptional needs
  • Adapt curriculum materials and teaching techniques to provide access for all learners
  • Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate, timely records
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
  • Communicate regularly with families to keep them informed and engaged in their child’s progress
