The role offers incredible support—a dedicated classroom program aide is provided, with extra 1:1 staff in place as dictated by each student’s IEP. You’ll collaborate closely with related service providers, ensuring that every learner receives comprehensive behavioral, social-emotional, communication, and sensory supports.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (Illinois)
- Understanding of cross-categorical and autism-specific instructional approaches
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEP goals
- Strong collaborative skills with a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to design and utilize structured teaching and visual supports
- Experience supporting behavioral and social-emotional growth in young learners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver academic instruction aligned with both grade-level standards and individual IEP objectives
- Integrate structured teaching, sensory, communication, and behavioral interventions
- Utilize data and observations to inform and adapt teaching practices
- Collaborate daily with related service providers and support staff
- Maintain thorough documentation for IEP compliance and progress monitoring
