Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current Special Education Teaching certification (appropriate for elementary level)
  • Experience working with a range of disabilities and student needs
  • Strong understanding of cross-categorical programming
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans aligned to IEP and grade-level standards
  • Familiarity with structured teaching, visual supports, and sensory strategies
  • Solid collaboration skills for working with aides, related service providers, and families
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized instructional plans addressing both grade-level content and unique IEP goals
  • Utilize a variety of structured teaching methods, visual aids, sensory supports, and behavioral/social-emotional interventions
  • Collaborate closely with related service providers and classroom aides to maximize student success
  • Monitor, document, and report student progress regularly
  • Support students with adaptive and functional needs during all parts of the school day
  • Communicate proactively with families and team members
