Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Special Education Teaching certification (appropriate for elementary level)
- Experience working with a range of disabilities and student needs
- Strong understanding of cross-categorical programming
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans aligned to IEP and grade-level standards
- Familiarity with structured teaching, visual supports, and sensory strategies
- Solid collaboration skills for working with aides, related service providers, and families
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instructional plans addressing both grade-level content and unique IEP goals
- Utilize a variety of structured teaching methods, visual aids, sensory supports, and behavioral/social-emotional interventions
- Collaborate closely with related service providers and classroom aides to maximize student success
- Monitor, document, and report student progress regularly
- Support students with adaptive and functional needs during all parts of the school day
- Communicate proactively with families and team members
