Bring your passion for helping students succeed to an engaging, full-time contract position supporting elementary learners in a resource environment. Ideal for those committed to special education, this opportunity offers a combination of direct instruction and in-class support for students in grades K-4. You’ll be guiding a caseload of 8-12 students, delivering both academic and social/emotional support in a well-structured, collaborative school setting. The role runs from August 27th, 2026 through June 11th, 2027, following a Monday to Friday schedule totaling 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute unpaid breaks each day.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Professional Educator’s License (PEL) in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain one through the ISBE Educator Licensure Information System.
  • Special Education Teacher certification required.
  • Experience working with elementary (K-4) students in a resource or inclusive setting.
  • Background using multisensory reading interventions (such as Orton Gillingham, SLANT, Wilson, or Sonday) preferred.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with general education teachers and support staff.
  • Ability to provide both academic and social/emotional support to diverse learners.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Deliver targeted instruction during pull-out sessions and provide push-in support in general classrooms.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain clear communication with families and school staff.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and resilience.
