Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience with individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional methods for diverse learning needs
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and colleagues
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, specialized instruction to students in a self-contained classroom for grades 3-5
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Monitor student progress and regularly update IEP goals and documentation
- Communicate effectively with families to support student learning and development
- Implement research-based strategies to address a variety of academic and behavioral needs
