Special Education Teacher - Cicero, Illinois

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
• Experience with individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional methods for diverse learning needs
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and colleagues

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, specialized instruction to students in a self-contained classroom for grades 3-5
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Monitor student progress and regularly update IEP goals and documentation
• Communicate effectively with families to support student learning and development
• Implement research-based strategies to address a variety of academic and behavioral needs
