You’ll be supporting K-4th grade students, working within a tight-knit caseload of six children in a blend of push-in and self-contained environments. Your workday will be Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 3:00pm, allowing for a balanced schedule and a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day. The role is situated in accessible Chicago neighborhoods, including Englewood or East Chatham.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Illinois State Educator License with an LBS1 Endorsement
- Proficiency in writing and executing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Experience collaborating with related service personnel
- At least two years of recent special education teaching experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Create inclusive, supportive learning spaces for K-4th grade students
- Implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and therapists
