Special Education Teacher in Cicero, IL

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with Special Education endorsement (or eligibility for certification)
• Experience designing and implementing IEPs for students with varying disabilities
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction and effective behavioral management strategies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff and families
• Adaptability and resourcefulness in creating inclusive classroom experiences
• Experience in data-driven instruction a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction based on student IEPs
• Assess student abilities and progress, documenting and reporting on outcomes
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support professionals to maximize student success
• Provide a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for all students
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities
• Support classroom management strategies and adapt materials as needed to suit diverse learners
