Special Education Teacher in Cicero, IL

Key Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Illinois Special Education Teacher Certification
• Possess a current Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Experience or background in early education, elementary, and/or middle school special education
• Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet students’ diverse learning needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for K-8 students
• Provide instruction and support in both resource and self-contained classrooms
• Assess student progress and adapt lesson plans accordingly
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with state and federal regulations
• Support students in building academic, social, and life skills
