Special Education Teacher - Cicero, Illinois

In the vibrant community near Cicero, IL, a fulfilling contract opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher ready to make a difference in young learners’ lives. This full-time role focuses on kindergarten through 4th-grade students at Crow Island Elementary, supported within a dynamic resource model. The upcoming academic year, beginning as soon as possible and running through June 10, 2027, offers a structured workweek: Monday through Friday, 35 hours weekly, including a 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute unpaid breaks each day.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Professional Educator’s License (PEL) from Illinois, or an equivalent out-of-state license; if out-of-state, please refer to the ISBE Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS) for guidance on transferring your credentials
• LBS1 Endorsement required
• Background in resource model instruction, supporting both academic and social/emotional growth
• Experience with K-4 students in both push-in and pull-out special education settings
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with general education teachers, resource teams, and families
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

• Design and implement resource services, including pull-out academic sessions and push-in support within general education classrooms
