Special Education Teacher - Cicero, IL

An immediate contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education professional who will help shape the educational journey of high schoolers with mild to moderate learning disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. This full-time role runs through the 2026-2027 school year, providing an excellent opportunity to build strong, lasting relationships and see growth firsthand.

Highlights of the position:

• 37.5-hour workweek: Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM–3:45 PM, with built-in lunch and planning periods
• Work within a co-teaching setting or lead your own self-contained classroom—preferences can be accommodated to match your strengths
• Serve a projected caseload of 20–30 students in grades 9-12, with the possibility of a reduced caseload as the year advances
• Focus exclusively on students with mild to moderate learning disabilities or ASD, supporting their progress in a positive, attentive environment
• Immediate start available

Key qualifications:

• Active LBS1 endorsement for grades 9–12 is essential
• Demonstrated expertise in writing and implementing IEPs
• Previous experience in high school environments and bilingual skills are valued but not required

Responsibilities include:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to student IEPs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Continuously monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
