Special Education Teacher - Cicero, IL

Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a rewarding contract opportunity located near Cicero, IL. In this position, you’ll work directly with K-2nd grade students primarily identified with developmental disabilities, Autism, and ADHD. You’ll help create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that fosters growth and success for your students.

This contract begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year. You will be working 37.5 to 40 hours per week, depending on your lunch schedule, all at one dedicated school site. The anticipated caseload is manageable (7-8 students), allowing for individualized attention and relationship-building with each child.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid LBS1 certification required
• Prior experience working with K-2nd grade students strongly preferred
• Demonstrated expertise supporting students with Autism, DD, and ADHD
• Passion for adaptive instruction and creative delivery of IEP goals
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
• Must qualify as a Special Education Teacher—assistant-level providers cannot be considered for this assignment

Responsibilities Include:

• Delivering specialized instruction to a small caseload of elementary students
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs in collaboration with support staff and families
• Utilizing differentiated instruction and behavioral management strategies
• Partnering with general education teachers to support student integration
• Maintaining detailed student records and progress reports
