Step into a rewarding role guiding high school students with special needs through alternative graduation pathways. As a full-time Special Education Teacher for grades 10–12, you’ll provide exceptional support in a dynamic program designed for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities or ASD. With a rolling caseload (currently only 10 students; never exceeding 20 in the program), you’ll work in an environment that values flexibility, collaboration, and individualized learning.
Your schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM–3:45 PM or 8:45 AM–4:00 PM, with both lunch and a planning period included. Wednesdays feature a student half-day, allowing you an extended lunch and dedicated prep time. This contract position runs from ASAP through June 11, 2027, offering stability and the chance to make a measurable impact.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid LBS1 license (covering grades 10–12); Indiana state licensure may be considered.
- Expertise in writing and implementing IEPs—strong support provided, including an onsite case manager.
- Comfort with both co-teaching and self-contained/resource settings (accommodations can be made based on your instructional preference).
- Experience supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum.
- High school teaching background and bilingual abilities are highly preferred but not required.
As a teacher in this program, you’ll have a manageable and supportive caseload—typically responsible for only 5–10 students at a time—with flexibility to tailor your approach for optimal student growth.
If you’re passionate about helping students achieve their fullest potential in an encouraging, well-supported environment, we want to hear from you. Apply today and inspire the next generation of graduates!
Compensation for this position ranges from $33.05 to $53.05. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
