Special Education Teacher - Cicero, Illinois

This full-time substitute position is available from January to March 2027, with a consistent schedule of Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm. Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• LSB1 certification required
• Experience working with high school-aged students, especially in therapeutic or alternative school settings
• Strong classroom management skills and adaptive instructional strategies
• Ability to collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to individual educational plans (IEPs)
• Support the academic and emotional growth of students within a therapeutic day school context
• Maintain documentation, progress reports, and communication with families and team members
• Foster a safe and positive learning atmosphere for students with diverse needs
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of individual learners
• Participate in team meetings and contribute input for IEP development and revision
• Implement behavior support plans and work closely with related service providers
