Join the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for the 2026–2027 school year! This full-time opportunity will support students within the district's new Middle School DHH hub, helping provide specialized educational services tailored to each student's unique communication and learning needs.
Assignment Details
- Position: Full-time; 37.5 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday through Friday; August 3, 2026 – May 28, 2027
- Setting: Onsite position only
- Assigned to the district's newly established Middle School DHH hub
- Caseload determined by district needs
- Student services are primarily consultative, with direct support provided as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Tennessee Department of Education (TN DOE) Certification for Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Tennessee fingerprint clearance (required before start)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with middle school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Familiarity with consultative service models
- Experience developing and implementing IEP accommodations
- Knowledge of assistive technology and accessibility supports
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultative and instructional services to middle school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Support classroom teachers with accommodations and instructional strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with administrators, related service providers, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with special education regulations
- Foster student independence, communication skills, and academic success
