This contract opportunity offers a consistent 40-hour workweek working directly within a dedicated school setting, where your specialized skills will help foster student growth and effective communication.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid EIPA score of 3.5 required, but candidates with a minimum score of 3.3 will also be considered.
  • Prior experience serving as an educational interpreter, preferably in a 1:1 setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the needs of children receiving special education services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism at all times.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality sign language interpretation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation for an elementary student, ensuring equitable access to classroom content and school activities.
  • Adapt signing to meet the unique needs and learning preferences of the assigned student.
  • Work closely with educators to ensure instructional materials and lessons are accurately conveyed.
  • Foster a supportive environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Support social interaction and communication between the student, peers, and staff.
  • Maintain thorough records of services provided, in alignment with established protocols.
