Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
  • Previous experience teaching or supporting students with multiple disabilities, preferably in early elementary settings
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and curriculum modification
  • Excellent classroom management skills with an emphasis on structure and safety
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and administrators
  • Strong communication skills, fostering positive relationships with young students, their families, and colleagues

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily instruction and support to kindergarten through second-grade students with multiple disabilities
  • Adapt and implement lesson plans according to IEPs, using a modified curriculum
  • Design and reinforce structured classroom routines that promote learning and safety
  • Maintain accurate records for student progress, accommodations, and compliance with educational goals
  • Act as a resource for families by sharing progress updates and strategies for reinforcing learning at home
  • Work within an interdisciplinary team to facilitate the success and inclusion of each student
