Special Education Teacher Position

Self-Contained Special Education Teacher | Maple Heights/Highland Hills, OH

A supportive school district near the Maple Heights/Highland Hills, Ohio area is seeking a full-time Self-Contained Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This role will support K–4 students in a self-contained classroom setting, making it a great opportunity for a dedicated educator who enjoys providing individualized instruction and building strong student relationships. The district may also have additional Special Education needs as the school year approaches, so qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration.

Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained K–4 classroom setting.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs).
Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet each student’s academic, behavioral, social, and functional needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
Maintain required documentation, track progress, and participate in IEP meetings.
Create a structured, positive classroom environment that supports student growth and independence.
Qualifications:
Active Ohio Special Education Teaching License, or eligibility to obtain appropriate certification.
Experience in a self-contained classroom setting preferred.
Previous school-based experience working with elementary students is a plus.
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
