Special Education Teacher in Clifton, NJ

Key qualifications and experience:

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher required.
• Preferably experience supporting high school students, though educators with other backgrounds will be considered.
• Strong classroom management and collaborative teaching skills.
• Ability to adapt and provide differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom environment.

Role responsibilities:

• Provide in-class support for 5 designated support classes.
• Serve as instructional support for up to 10 students per class, ensuring accessibility of curriculum and promoting student success.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify and deliver lessons that accommodate learning differences.
• Track student progress, maintain necessary documentation, and participate in IEP meetings as needed.
• Communicate clearly with students, parents, and staff to support individual learning goals.
• Maintain a professional, empathetic, and encouraging approach with all students.
