Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current, valid certification in Special Education
- Experience teaching or supporting students with various disabilities
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to ensure student success
- Familiarity with co-teaching models and differentiated instruction is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that align with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assess student progress and document data to inform instruction and satisfy compliance requirements
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to maximize student inclusion
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development sessions
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom community
- Encourage students’ academic growth, positive social skills, and self-advocacy
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
