Special Education Teacher - Clifton, NJ

Key qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
• Previous experience in a similar setting, ideally supporting self-contained classrooms
• Knowledge of current best practices in special education and individualized instruction
• Strong communication, patience, and collaborative mindset
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere

Core responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive, differentiated lessons for three self-contained students during designated morning (9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) and afternoon (12:50 p.m. – 3:20 p.m.) sessions
• Develop, implement, and track progress on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Cultivate a safe and nurturing classroom environment tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Collaborate closely with staff, therapists, and families to coordinate holistic support and services
• Maintain thorough records of student performance and regularly communicate achievements and concerns to parents/guardians
• Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to address students’ evolving needs

This contract role is available from November 2, 2026, through March 25, 2027, with possible early start as early as mid-October depending on leave circumstances.
