Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Multi-Categorical Special Education certification in South Carolina (required)
- Experience working with early elementary students, ideally within a self-contained classroom setting
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, IEP development, and data-driven teaching
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working alongside families, general education staff, and support personnel
- Passion for innovative, student-centered teaching practices and creating a positive learning climate
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction aligned with students’ IEPs and curriculum standards
- Adapt and modify lessons, activities, and assessments to meet diverse learning styles and abilities
- Implement positive behavioral supports and foster a classroom culture that encourages respect and inclusion
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to monitor progress, participate in IEP meetings, and update required documentation
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to ensure consistent support and celebrate student progress
