Special Education Teacher | Clinton Township, Michigan

You’ll play a key part in shaping the academic and social successes of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder by delivering individualized, engaging instruction in a supportive environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Teaching Certification
• Previous experience teaching in a self-contained special education classroom, especially at the elementary level, preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, modifications, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and staff
• Ability to create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver individualized, evidence-based instruction for elementary students with ASD
• Develop and implement IEPs, collaborating closely with related service providers and general education staff
• Utilize positive behavior support strategies and adapt curriculum to meet student needs
• Foster social, emotional, and academic growth while maintaining a safe learning space
• Maintain accurate records, data, and documentation according to district and compliance requirements
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for success at home and school
