Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher in South Carolina
- Previous experience teaching high school students, preferably within resource or inclusive classroom settings
- Familiarity with Ed Plan program is a strong plus
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Strong organizational skills to manage IEPs, documentation, and multiple priorities
- Dedication to fostering a supportive, encouraging classroom community
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with student IEPs and academic standards
- Develop, modify, and implement lesson plans tailored to students’ unique needs
- Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure students receive appropriate services
- Engage families effectively in the education process and support students in developing key life and academic skills
