Make a direct impact by supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. In this dynamic role, you’ll work closely with students ages 7 to 13, delivering tailored reading instruction and expertly crafting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of 12 students. Your guidance can help students gain the skills and confidence they need to thrive academically.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Proven experience working with elementary or middle school students
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to differentiate instruction and create engaging, accessible lesson plans
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted reading instruction to individual students and small groups
- Develop, write, and update IEPs for each student, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to coordinate student supports
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate goals and progress to parents and team members
- Maintain accurate records and foster a caring, structured classroom environment
