You’ll join an inclusive school community, engaging with students in either K-2nd, 3rd-5th, 5th-7th, or 8th-10th grades, according to your strengths and interests. Your skills in IEP development, adaptive instruction, and collaboration will help shape each student’s success.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- New York State Teacher certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities) or active progress toward licensure
- Open to recent graduates or educators with out-of-state credentials in process of conversion
- Bachelor’s degree required; candidates with a Master’s in Special Education strongly preferred
- Previous experience composing and implementing IEPs is essential
- Deep understanding of individualized supports and differentiated instruction
- Commitment to fostering trusting, supportive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, adaptive instruction to K-12 students with diverse needs
- Develop, review, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and support teams
- Monitor progress, adjust interventions, and communicate regularly with families
- Uphold a nurturing, respectful classroom culture where every learner can thrive
For this rewarding opportunity, you’ll receive compensation between $35 and $47 per hour, based on experience and credentials.
