Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state or eligibility to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience in high school special education environments.
- Background in resource/co-teaching models or supporting general education classrooms.
- Experience working with neurodiverse student populations in self-contained settings preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to design and implement differentiated instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom culture for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction to high school students in resource/co-teaching or self-contained classrooms, adapting content to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure coordinated services and successful student outcomes.
- Develop, monitor, and report on student progress toward IEP goals.
- Employ evidence-based behavioral and academic strategies to maximize engagement and achievement.
- Maintain accurate documentation, comply with relevant regulations, and participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences.
