You’ll collaborate daily with a dedicated team of five paraprofessionals, each providing one-on-one support to their assigned student, fostering a collaborative and nurturing learning environment.

As the lead educator, you'll fill a leave of absence from October through December, utilizing your specialized knowledge to implement individualized education plans, support student growth, and ensure safety and consistency throughout the day.

Qualifications:

  • Vermont Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility)
  • Experience working with K-5 students, particularly those with autism and behavioral challenges
  • Familiarity with self-contained classroom settings and student-centered approaches
  • Strong skills in collaboration, communication, and adaptive instruction
  • Ability to design, modify, and implement IEPs for diverse learners
  • Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to fostering a positive classroom culture

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt instruction to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Oversee and coordinate with paraprofessionals, ensuring effective 1:1 support
  • Collect data on student progress and communicate findings to relevant team members
  • Utilize proactive behavioral strategies and interventions
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom
