Qualifications:

• Valid state certification in Special Education
• Experience or coursework in working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with general education staff and families
• Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs
• Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management abilities
• Adaptability and creativity in using varied instructional strategies

Responsibilities:

• Design and adapt lesson plans to accommodate individual learning plans and special needs
• Assess students’ academic and functional skills, documenting progress toward goals
• Collaborate with other teachers, counselors, and specialists to support student success
• Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports in the classroom
• Engage with families to keep them informed and involved in their child’s education
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, offering insight and recommendations
• Foster a respectful, empowering classroom climate where students are encouraged to reach their potential
