Make an impact in the upcoming 25/26 school year by providing meaningful support in an Intensive Resource Room for students with moderate to severe needs. This classroom, comprised of 6 students from 1st to 6th grade, offers the opportunity to work closely with children whose disabilities range from Down syndrome to non-verbal autism, including those who use AAC devices. You'll collaborate in a nurturing, highly supportive environment alongside dedicated paraprofessionals and a team of service providers such as occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and social workers.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching license or eligibility in Colorado.
  • Experience working with students who have moderate to severe disabilities.
  • Knowledge of AAC devices and their integration into classroom instruction.
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with paraprofessionals and related service providers.
  • Compassionate approach toward supporting self-care and academic needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction to students in a self-contained classroom setting.
  • Foster a safe, structured environment tailored to diverse needs and abilities.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals to maintain consistent daily routines and self-care support.
  • Coordinate with push-in and pull-out service providers to ensure comprehensive delivery of OT, SLP, and SSW services.
  • Develop and maintain thorough documentation for student progress and IEP goals.
  • Engage regularly with families regarding student growth and needs.
