Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in an intensive resource classroom setting for the 25/26 school year. This contract-to-hire opportunity involves working closely with a small group of elementary students with a range of moderate to severe needs, including Down syndrome and non-verbal autism. The classroom consists of six students in grades 1st through 6th, many of whom rely on AAC devices for daily communication. You’ll collaborate with dedicated paraprofessionals who assist with classroom routines and self-care, as well as integrated service providers such as occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and social workers.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching license (or eligibility for licensure)
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
- Knowledge of AAC devices and alternative communication methods is highly valued
- Familiarity working with students with varying levels of ability, including those with significant cognitive and communication needs
- Strong skills in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)

- Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support learning and communication goals
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to ensure effective classroom management and student engagement
