In this travel position, you’ll gain invaluable insights into a spectrum of educational models, collaborating daily with paraprofessionals, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, and social workers. Supporting students in grades 1-6 with diverse needs, ranging from Down syndrome to non-verbal autism (utilizing AAC devices), will allow you to hone specialized strategies and broaden your professional toolkit—adding unique skills to your resume while contributing meaningful impact.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Special Education Teacher license/certification
  • Experience working with moderate to severe disabilities (preferred)
  • Familiarity with AAC devices and various communication strategies
  • Background collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (OT, SLP, SSW)
  • Dedication to individualized instruction and inclusive practices

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and classroom management for a small group (6 students)
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals for routine and self-care needs
  • Integrate push-in and pull-out services alongside related service providers
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Foster a supportive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
