Certified Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher in Columbia Cross Roads, PA

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with students in grades 6-8; experience with K-5 or 9-12 a plus
• Familiarity or prior work supporting students with emotional or behavioral needs
• Strong classroom management and individualized education planning skills
• Compassion, adaptability, and clear communication abilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to emotional support needs of each student
• Case manage a classroom of 13 students initially, with potential for the caseload to grow up to 20
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, counselors, and other staff to foster an inclusive and supportive environment
• Communicate regularly with families regarding academic and behavioral progress
• Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development

This contract position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30am to 3:10pm, allowing you to maintain work-life balance while investing in the growth and well-being of your students.
