K-5 Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher - Columbia Cross Roads, Pennsylvania

Make an impact as a contract Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students in an Emotional Support setting. This opportunity offers a welcoming environment for educators who are passionate about individualized learning and positive behavioral support.

Start as soon as possible and continue through the academic year, working onsite Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 3:10pm. You'll be working with a dedicated group of 13 students in 7th and 8th grades (with the potential for caseload expansion up to 20 students) who benefit from your expertise, guidance, and empathy.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience teaching or supporting students in grades 6–8 (knowledge of K–5 and 9–12 a plus)
• Background with Emotional Support classrooms preferred
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, families, and service providers
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and support IEP goals
• Positive, patient, and proactive attitude toward student development

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction in a small-group middle school Emotional Support environment
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) addressing student needs
• Utilize evidence-based strategies for social, emotional, and academic success
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for progress monitoring and compliance
• Collaborate with counselors, therapists, and general education teachers to foster student growth
• Provide crisis intervention and behavior management techniques as needed
• Serve as an advocate for students, supporting a safe and enriching classroom atmosphere
