Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Pennsylvania Special Education certification (Instructional I or II) required, or eligibility to obtain this prior to start date
  • No emergency or out-of-state certifications can be considered
  • Prior experience working in Emotional Support or similar structured classroom settings preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to establish clear routines and reinforce expectations consistently
  • Compassionate, collaborative, and adaptable approach to teaching

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and instruct an initial caseload of 13 middle school students, with possible growth to 20
  • Design and implement effective lesson plans tailored to each student's IEP
  • Establish and maintain predictable classroom routines
  • Employ positive reinforcement and individualized behavioral supports
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to ensure holistic student progress
  • Document and report student progress in accordance with school and district guidelines
