Certified Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher | Columbia Cross Roads, Pennsylvania

Step into a rewarding contract position supporting middle school students as a Special Education instructor focused on Emotional Support for grades 7 and 8. You will play a pivotal role in creating a consistent, structured environment while helping students thrive academically and emotionally.

Key Qualifications:

• Current and valid Pennsylvania Special Education Teacher Certification (Instructional I or II), or ability to secure full certification prior to your start date
• Emergency or out-of-state certificates cannot be considered
• Proven experience working with middle school-aged students, preferably in an emotional support or similar specialized setting
• Ability to maintain clear routines with a structured and predictable classroom environment
• Skilled in utilizing positive reinforcement techniques to encourage student progress and engagement
• Adaptability to changing caseloads and comfort managing a group currently at 13 students, with potential growth up to 20
• Excellent communication abilities to partner with school teams and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored instruction and support to middle school students with emotional and behavioral needs
• Foster an environment that balances consistency and flexibility, helping students feel secure and understood
• Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
• Implement daily routines and interventions designed to promote positive behaviors
• Work closely with support staff, administration, and families to ensure student success
• Help students build academic, social, and emotional skills through creative and positive strategies
