Special Education Teacher - Columbia, Maryland

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-issued)
• Experience working with students ages 3-5 with special needs
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to create and adapt lesson plans to meet IEP goals

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans for students with moderate to severe disabilities
• Support students in achieving their educational and developmental goals
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to ensure cohesive support
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings and documentation
