Qualifications:

  • Current special education teaching certification (state-specific)
  • Previous classroom experience in a special education setting preferred
  • Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress tracking
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Adaptable, patient, and passionate about student success

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans for students
  • Modify and adapt curriculum materials and lesson plans to fit individual learner needs
  • Deliver engaging instruction in a self-contained or resource classroom, depending on assignment
  • Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Maintain records, progress notes, and data for compliance and reporting
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
