Multiple Special Education Teacher Openings – Northwest Columbia, SC

Location: NW Columbia, South Carolina Area
Position Type: Full-time, school-based contract
Setting: In-person

A school district in the Northwest Columbia area is seeking multiple Special Education Teachers to join its team. This is a great opportunity for educators looking to work in a supportive school community while serving students across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels.

Current assignments include:

  • Middle school self-contained positions
  • High school resource position
  • Elementary school self-contained position
  • Additional special education openings based on district needs

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs
  • Provide direct instruction in self-contained or resource classroom settings
  • Modify lessons, assignments, and instructional materials based on student needs
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related-service providers, administrators, and families
  • Support students’ academic, behavioral, social, and functional development
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
  • Active South Carolina teaching license with an appropriate Special Education certification preferred
  • Active out-of-state teaching licenses are accepted for consideration
  • Candidates with an out-of-state license must be eligible to obtain the appropriate South Carolina teaching certification
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs
  • Experience working in self-contained or resource classroom settings preferred
  • Strong classroom-management, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
