Special Education Teacher - Columbiana, Alabama

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification in elementary special education or Collaborative K-6 in the state of Alabama
• Experience or strong interest in teaching students with significant disabilities
• Ability to develop and implement individualized instructional plans
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school teams
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction for a self-contained group of 10–12 students, focusing on individualized learning objectives
• Create and adapt curriculum to meet each child’s unique strengths and challenges
• Track progress and maintain accurate documentation according to IEP goals
• Engage families and related services staff in students’ educational journeys
• Promote a positive, safe, and engaging classroom culture
• Adjust instructional approaches and supports to maximize student growth
