Special Education Teacher - Columbus, GA

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Previous experience in a K-2 setting or with early elementary students
• Deep understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective co-teaching
• Ability to adapt lessons and address individual learning needs in an inclusion classroom

Primary Responsibilities:

• Co-teach alongside general educators in an inclusion setting, providing specialized support to K-2 students with varying abilities
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Utilize differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
• Maintain ongoing communication with parents, staff, and service providers
• Track student progress, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings
