Two rewarding roles are available: a Middle School Special Education Teacher (grades 6-8) in a self-contained classroom for students with mild to moderate needs, and a potential Elementary Special Education Inclusion Teacher (grades K-2) working with a caseload of 13 students. You’ll provide tailored instruction, collaborate with colleagues, and help students achieve their fullest potential in a supportive, focused environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Georgia teaching certificate with Special Education Adapted Curriculum endorsement
- Experience working in special education, preferably within middle school or elementary settings
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Strong skills in differentiation, classroom management, and individualized instruction
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team and communicate with families
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom community
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans that support IEP goals for each student
- Adapt general education curriculum as needed to meet student learning levels and styles
- Track academic, behavioral, and social-emotional progress, maintaining thorough documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other support staff
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and structured classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to support student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school activities as required
