Bring your passion for supporting young learners to a meaningful contract opportunity with two openings catering to diverse student needs for the upcoming school year, August 2026 to June 2027. This full-time assignment offers you the chance to work with 5th and 6th graders in a collaborative and supportive environment close to Concord, NH.
In this role, you’ll serve in one of two capacities: as a resource room teacher with a caseload of approximately 15 students, or spearhead a self-contained Life Skills/Intensive Needs classroom for three students who require higher levels of support, including those with complex medical issues and autism spectrum disorders. Each student in the intensive needs program is paired with a dedicated paraprofessional, helping you focus on specialized instruction and care.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience with elementary or middle grade caseloads preferred
- Expertise in resource room environments or teaching intensive needs populations
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and accommodations
- Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service providers
- Skills in differentiated instruction
- Compassionate, flexible, and highly organized
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Deliver instruction in resource or self-contained settings
- Coordinate closely with paraprofessionals for the Intensive Needs classroom
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate with families and participate in team meetings
- Track and report progress on goals, maintaining compliance with special education mandates
