We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to support students with hearing loss from ages 3–22. This part-time opportunity offers a flexible three-day work week and the chance to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction, evaluations, and collaborative support throughout the school year.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide direct, individualized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to determine educational needs.
- Develop recommendations and contribute to individualized programming for students.
- Participate as an active member of IEP and Section 504 teams.
- Provide consultative services to educators, staff, and families to support students with hearing loss.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive appropriate educational services and accommodations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and federal special education requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid teaching license with Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement (or eligibility for licensure).
- Experience providing services to students with hearing loss is preferred.
- Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, IEP development, and best practices in deaf education.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with school teams and families.
