Make a difference in the lives of students by stepping into a pivotal role supporting middle and high school learners with high-level autism. This contract position near Conover, NC, offers the opportunity to teach and inspire within a collaborative and supportive educational environment. As an EC Special Education Teacher, you’ll work weekdays from August 13, 2026, to June 3, 2027, helping students who follow the extended content standard thrive academically and personally.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Adapted Curriculum teaching license required
  • Experience working with students diagnosed with high-level autism, preferably in a school setting
  • Familiarity with extended content standards and differentiated instructional strategies
  • Strong communication abilities—collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff
  • Organized, compassionate, and resilient in managing a caseload of 15–18 middle and high school students
  • Effective classroom management skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs and goals
  • Create an inclusive, safe, and structured classroom environment
  • Employ evidence-based instructional practices and adapt curriculum as needed
  • Collect and analyze student performance data to inform instruction
  • Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other school professionals
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with families on progress and strategies

In this role, you’ll benefit from a regular weekday schedule (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–3:30 pm, up to 40 hours per week), allowing for stability and work-life balance throughout the academic year.
