Special Education Teacher | Cooperstown, New York

Step into a rewarding contract position as a Special Education Teacher serving grades 7-12 near Cooperstown, NY. You’ll shape the academic journey for students requiring extra support in English Language Arts, with special emphasis on 7th and 9th grades. This role begins September 1, 2026, with students arriving September 8, and extends until June 25, 2027. Your schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3 PM—about 34 hours weekly—creating a balanced workweek for deeply impactful teaching.

Your responsibilities will include co-teaching and providing resource support, managing a caseload of 15 students (with additional students in the resource room), developing and implementing individualized education plans, and collaborating with other educators and related services. Proficiency with ClearTrack for IEP and progress monitoring, as well as assessment experience using Woodcock-Johnson (Riverside Insights), will set you up for success in this role.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid New York State Educator License with Special Education Endorsement
• At least 2 years of recent special education teaching experience preferred
• Ability to write and carry out IEPs, including collaborating with multidisciplinary staff
• Comfortable with ClearTrack and Woodcock-Johnson assessment tools, or eager to learn
