Special Education Teacher in Coos Bay, OR

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for licensure)
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
• Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and inclusion practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with students with disabilities
• Willingness to adapt instruction to meet students’ unique needs

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and track progress of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
• Use innovative teaching strategies to deliver instruction based on students’ abilities and goals
• Collaborate with general education staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams for student success
• Provide direct support and adaptations to ensure participation and growth in both academic and social-emotional areas
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Participate in professional development and ongoing training to stay current in best practices
