Take on a rewarding contract assignment as a Special Education Teacher in a high school ED classroom. This position serves 11th and 12th grade students and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a supportive educational environment. Located in the Bath/Hornell, NY area, this onsite role is designed to provide up to 12 weeks of dedicated coverage with a schedule of 32.5 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State Teaching License with high school endorsement
  • Appropriate certifications for an ED classroom setting
  • Experience teaching in special education at the high school level preferred
  • Ability to deliver individualized instruction and adapt to diverse learning needs
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to 11th and 12th grade students in a specialized ED classroom setting
  • Develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to ensure student growth and success
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
  • Maintain accurate records related to student performance and implementation of IEPs
  • Participate in relevant meetings, professional development, and case conferences as required

This position offers a chance to build meaningful relationships with students and support their academic and social-emotional progress during a critical period. The assignment begins in early September and continues through early December, providing structured support and continuity for the classroom.
