Special Ed Teacher | Corrales, New Mexico

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Experience working with students in an elementary school environment
• Background in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, families, and support teams
• Ability to adapt instruction and differentiate lessons to reach a range of learning needs and styles
• Organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining documentation and progress tracking
• Previous experience in a SPED (Special Education) classroom is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs in an elementary school setting
• Design and implement effective IEPs, monitoring student progress and adjusting strategies as needed
• Create an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and growth
• Work closely with general education teachers and support staff to ensure students’ needs are met across the curriculum
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, challenges, and successes
• Foster social and emotional development alongside academic achievement
• Maintain documentation and assessments in compliance with regulatory requirements
