Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher focused on providing exceptional support to 4th and 5th grade students. This contract position runs from September 1st, 2026 through June 30th, 2027, offering a consistent weekday schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. You’ll work closely with elementary learners, both in inclusive co-teaching settings and in resource-based push-in or pull-out groups.

This role is designed for educators passionate about fostering growth and inclusivity, creating meaningful learning experiences for students with a range of abilities. With a dynamic caseload spanning inclusion and resource settings, you’ll collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to tailor instruction and interventions for each learner's needs.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current and valid New York State Teaching License for K-5 Teacher of Students with Disabilities
  • Experience with upper elementary grades, particularly 4th and 5th grade
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP development
  • Effective communication skills to partner with families, classroom teachers, and specialists
  • Proven ability to adapt and innovate in classroom management and instructional strategies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach in general education classrooms and deliver specialized instruction to support IEP goals
  • Conduct resource sessions, utilizing push-in and pull-out models as appropriate
  • Develop, monitor, and implement IEPs in collaboration with the educational team
  • Employ positive behavioral strategies and create an encouraging, inclusive classroom climate
  • Track student progress and maintain thorough documentation
  • Communicate regularly with parents and participate in team meetings

This position offers a pay range of $38.58 to $52.76 per hour, reflecting your expertise and dedication to inclusive education.
