Step into a rewarding role supporting high school students in a structured learning environment focused on reading intervention and executive functioning skills. This full-time, contract opportunity runs from September 2026 through Thanksgiving 2026, with hours from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM each weekday.
In this role, you’ll be working closely with approximately 16–20 students in grades 9–12, offering dedicated instruction to improve reading skills, study habits, and executive functioning strategies. Your expertise will help students thrive academically by guiding them with organization, planning, and learning techniques. You’ll collaborate with general education teams, develop and implement IEPs, track student progress, and ensure compliance with state and district requirements.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Completion of a state-approved special education teacher preparation program
- Current Minnesota teaching license (through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board)
- Demonstrated competency in Minnesota Standards of Effective Practice and Special Education core skills
- Successful student teaching or practicum experience
Preferred Experience:
- Previous work with high school students
- Strong background in reading intervention and executive functioning
- Expertise in IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Ability to contribute collaboratively in a dynamic, team-based setting
